Kirby Smart revealed on Monday that Javon Bullard’s suspension was one game and the Georgia defensive back would return to action this week when the Bulldogs play host to Auburn.

“We’re expecting to get Javon back this week,” Smart said. “Tykee (Smith) did a good job, Tykee will continue to play Star like he has in the previous games. He did a great job practicing last week. Got a lot of confidence in Tykee, gives us some depth at that position. They complement each other really well and I hope that both of them can help us.”

Smart last week said Georgia would handle Bullard’s status internally after the defensive back was arrested early Sunday morning on DUI and other traffic-related charges.

Multiple reports a week ago noted that a UGA police report noted that Bullard’s blood-alcohol level was tested twice, and came back at .143 and .148. The legal limit for those over 21 is .08. Bullard is 20.

Bullard was a starter in the Bulldogs’ first 2 games of the season, and made 3 tackles in Georgia’s Saturday win over Kent State, which brought his season total to 7 tackles. He had a pass breakup in the Week 2 game against Samford.
