Calvin Ridley, a former Alabama wide receiver and star NFL player since being drafted in 2018 by Atlanta, has been traded from the Falcons to Jacksonville for “complex” draft considerations that could include a 2024 2nd and 2023 5th rounder, per report.
Ridley, of course, is currently serving a suspension through the 2022 season for gambling on games while an active NFL player last season. Still, the Jaguars are adding a nice piece for next year’s unit.
The trade was reported by Ian Rapoport just an hour ahead of the NFL trade deadline at 4 p.m. EST.
Shocker: The #Falcons are trading WR Calvin Ridley to the #Jaguars, sources say, in exchange for complex draft compensation that can be worth at maximum a 2023 5th rounder and a 2024 2nd rounder. Ridley is suspended through at least the 2022 season. pic.twitter.com/Zk6Yb7U5F3

A lot of receivers and pass catchers have been on the move so far Tuesday. The Chicago Bears traded for Chase Claypool from the Steelers and the Lions traded for TJ Hockenson earlier Tuesday as well.
Here are the potential returns for Ridley.
Here are the conditions on the 2024 4th rounder that is going from Jags to Falcons, per source.
It stays as a 4 if Calvin Ridley is on the roster.
It goes to a 3 if Ridley reaches certain incentives.
And it becomes a 2 if the Jaguars sign Ridley to a contract extension. https://t.co/e6yoxa05fh
