Jalen Kitna was arrested and booked at Alachua County Jail on Wednesday afternoon. It wasn’t immediately known what Kitna was accused of, but now the charges have been reported.

Per CBS4 News Gainesville, the Florida backup quarterback was arrested and faces charges related to child pornography. CBS4 News Gainesville tweeted that a Gainesville police spokesperson confirmed the news:

Kitna appeared in 4 games for the Gators in 2022, completing 10 of his 14 passes for 181 yards and a touchdown. He served as the primary backup quarterback to starter Anthony Richardson this season as the Gators finished the regular season with a 6-6 overall record. He is the son of longtime NFL QB Jon Kitna.

Jalen Kitna was a 3-star prospect out of Burleson, Texas, in the 2021 recruiting class. He was the No. 55 overall quarterback in the 2021 cycle, per the 247Sports composite rankings.

His current status with the Florida team is unknown.

A spokesperson for the Gainesville Police Dept. tells TMZ Sports … Jalen Kitna was booked on five separate charges — two counts of distribution of child exploitation material and three counts of possession of child pornography.
