Wendell Gregory is an elite linebacker prospect and one of the top players out of Georgia for the 2024 recruiting class. Friday evening, he announced an SEC commitment that will keep him in the southeast to begin his college career.

Gregory announced he is committing to Shane Beamer’s South Carolina program, giving the Gamecocks a 4th commitment in the class of 2024. The 4-star prospect out of Walton High School in Marietta held a host of Power 5 offers at the time of his commitment, including SEC programs in Auburn, Arkansas, Tennessee and Vanderbilt.

“I would like to thank the man above my Coaches,Teammates and family because none of this would be possible without them and with that being said I will (be) committing to the University of South Carolina,” wrote Gregory.

According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Gregory rates as the 12th-overall LB nationally for the class of 2024 and the No. 23 player from Georgia for the cycle. He is also rated the No. 130 overall recruit in the country.
