Hendon Hooker burst onto the college football scene in 2022 and leaped into the conversation as a Heisman Trophy candidate. Leading Josh Heupel’s offense at Tennessee, Hooker the nation on notice while accounting for 32 total touchdowns and just 2 interceptions.

Unfortunately, Hooker was injured in the loss to South Carolina and would miss the rest of the season. Hooker is still rehabbing from that knee injury and was unable to play in the Senior Bowl, but he still made the trip to Mobile to take part in the interview process with NFL teams.

Coming out of the Senior Bowl, reports indicate Hooker helped his draft stock during those interviews. He reportedly impressed many teams, and Senior Bowl Executive Director Jim Nagy also confirmed hearing great feedback from NFL teams on Hooker’s interviews.

It remains to be seen how much impact that will have on Hooker’s stock, and it’s still possible Hooker experiences a steep slide on draft day while coming off a significant knee injury. However, it’s likely a good sign that Hooker took advantage of the opportunity to meet with NFL teams while doing his best to get his face in front of scouts from around the league.
