Jamie Pollard is apparently counting down the days until Texas joins the SEC.

The Iowa State athletic director was asked about the Cyclones’ recent men’s basketball game at Texas being televised on the Longhorn Network.

“Can’t leave soon enough,” Pollard said. “Does that answer your question?”

Here’s video of the response, which was given in an interview on 365Sports:

The Longhorn Network has been a controversial part of the Big 12’s TV package over the years. However, the final score of the Texas-Iowa State game — 72-54 in favor of the Longhorns — is perhaps another reason why Pollard is eager for Texas to leave the Big 12.

Texas and Oklahoma are set to join the SEC prior to the 2024 college football season. That means there’s still one more football and basketball campaign — in addition to the one that’s ongoing — before the Cyclones are free of the Longhorn Network.

Texas and Iowa State will meet one more time in football before parting ways. The teams are scheduled to play each other on Nov. 18 in Ames.
