Kemp Alderman was determined to power Ole Miss to a series victory over Purdue on Saturday. Alderman capped a 3-for-4 day at the plate with his second home run of the game to walk it off for the Rebels.

The game went to extra innings, tied 6-6. Alderman broke the tie by going to the opposite field with a solo shot in the bottom of the 10th, delivering the 7-6 win in walk-off fashion. It clinches the series for Ole Miss after a 15-7 victory in Friday’s opener. The Rebels are now 13-2 on the season.

After the game, Alderman described his mindset at the plate in his final at-bat.

In the first 2 games, Alderman is 5-for-8 against Purdue pitchers with 3 home runs and 10 RBIs. He’ll look to add to those numbers in Sunday’s series finale – if the Boilermakers are willing to pitch to him.
