Josh Hubbard, a Class of 2023 5-foot-10 and 180-pound point guard out of Madison, Mississippi (Madison-Ridgeland Academy), has announced a commitment to play in the SEC.

Hubbard announced on social media that he committed to Mississippi State. Hubbard is considered a 4-star prospect, according to the 247Sports Composite, the No. 1 player in the state of Mississippi and the No. 15 point guard in America in his class.

He has a reported 13 offers, and was recruited to the Bulldogs by George Brooks.

This move came after Hubbard was released from his National Letter of Intent with Ole Miss after the departure of former coach Kermit Davis in February. Hubbard earlier picked the Rebels over the Bulldogs, Southern Cal, Xavier and Seton Hall in September.

Beyond his recruiting, Hubbard is perhaps most known for breaking the Mississippi high school basketball scoring record about a month ago. He has 4,275 points to become the No. 1 scorer in state history, according to the Clarion-Ledger.
