Jerome Tang rubbed some salt on open wounds after his Wildcats downed No. 6 seed Kentucky Sunday.

After the game in which the Kansas State Wildcats took down Kentucky 75-69, Tang was asked several questions by the media, including how it felt to beat the Wildcats and move on to the Sweet 16. Tang said that K-State simply had “more dudes” than Kentucky.

“You know, we have a program that’s rich in tradition too. Like, all those old dudes that play for Kentucky aren’t coming back. Right? So, tradition doesn’t help you if you don’t get out there on the floor and play with some dudes. We had more dudes than they did today. That’s what that was.”

Kentucky currently has 6 seniors on the team, as Tang alluded to earlier in the above video. After the game on Sunday, Kentucky head coach John Calipari told reporters “My guess is that they all will leave but haven’t talked to them. I would guess they would,” he told reporters on Sunday.” The seniors have 1 more year of eligibility remaining due to a COVID-19 waiver from the 2020-21 season.

Kansas State is headed to the Sweet 16 to face the winner of the Marquette/Michigan State matchup on Thursday.
