Tennessee baseball bounced back from a rough start to SEC play against Mizzou with a 3-game sweep of No. 12/21 Texas A&M. The Vols earned the series win Saturday in a comeback victory, topped with a walkoff sac fly.

Sunday was a little less dramatic. Tennessee downed the Aggies 9-6 behind a hot bat from Zane Denton to add to an overall great collective effort from the Vols’ bats. Denton, who hit in the 9-spot Sunday, drove in a pair of runs to increase the Tennessee lead to 9-3 with 2 outs in the 7th inning. That essentially proved to be the deathblow.

The Vols used 8 total arms against the Aggies, with Drew Beam getting the longest stint to start off. He pitched 4.1 innings, allowing 3 runs and 2 earned runs.

Tennessee is now 3-3 in SEC play with a doozy on the schedule for next week. Tennessee faces off against a decent UNC Asheville club in its midweek game before travelling to Baton Rouge to face the 21-3 LSU Tigers.
