Garrett Edwards has LSU fans everywhere concerned after he left Friday’s game against South Carolina with apparent discomfort in his arm.

Edwards was working in the bottom of the 5th inning when he reached for his elbow after throwing a pitch. Michael Cauble captured video from the SEC Network+ broadcast.

Edwards has been one of No. 1 LSU’s top arms out of the bullpen this season. He entered Friday’s doubleheader with a 0.81 ERA and 26-4 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 22.1 innings, with a 4-0 record in 9 appearances.

No one wants to see a pitcher leave a game with arm discomfort like Edwards did. Hopefully, the injury is not as bad as it looked.

No. 6 South Carolina currently leads LSU 7-3 in the top of the 7th inning. It’s the first game of a doubleheader that will wrap up the 3-game series. The Gamecocks took Game 1 13-5 Thursday.
