Lior Berman, Auburn hoops small forward, announces decision on future with Tigers

Lior Berman has spent the past 4 years at Auburn as a reserve player and walk-on, earning perhaps his most playing time with the Tigers last season. Berman appeared in 25 games for the Tigers in 2023, averaging 2.2 points and 1.2 rebounds per game.
On Wednesday, Berman announced that he will take advantage of his Covid-19 year and return to Auburn rather than hitting the transfer portal to see more playing time.

Bruce Pearl hinted at putting Berman on scholarship in March, too:
“Had we not taken the two-year scholarship penalty the last two years, Lior Berman would have been on scholarship — and maybe someday,” Pearl said, via 247Sports.
Berman does one thing very well: He can really shoot the 3. The 6-4 walk-on hit at a 35% clip last year and is a 39% career 3-point shooter while at the college level. Sure, his sample size isn’t the most inclusive, but he proved he could hang with legitimate SEC minutes last season.
Let’s see if he can build on that next season.
