Kentucky forward/center Lance Ware announced Thursday that he will be entering the transfer portal to play elsewhere for the 2023 season. Ware saw a total of 77 games for the Wildcats.

Ware has played both the 4 and 5 spot for the Wildcats and occupied reserve minutes behind Oscar Tshiebwe. It’s worth noting that Tshiebwe does have 1 more season of eligibility remaining in college basketball, though no official announcement on his future has been made as of yet.

Ware wrote a message to Kentucky fans announcing his decision Thursday via his personal Twitter account:

This is Kentucky’s 4th transfer portal loss of the offseason. Ware joins Sahvir Wheeler (Washington), C.J. Frederick (Cincinnati) and Daimion Collins in entering the portal following last season.

The Wildcats have yet to have a transfer addition this offseason.
