Isaac Ukwu had a strong run at James Madison as an edge prospect for the Dukes. After hitting the transfer portal, Ukwu generated a number of offers from Power 5 programs.

As a 6-foot-2.5 and 219-pound defensive end, Ukwu had interest from Auburn, Ole Miss, Colorado, West Virginia, and others in the portal. In the end, Ukwu is headed to the SEC for the 2023 season.

He revealed a commitment to Lane Kiffin’s Ole Miss program Friday night. That is a nice pick-up for the Rebel defense heading into the summer.

During the 2022 season, Ukwu posted 40 total tackles, 10.5 TFL, 7.5, a forced fumble and 3 passes defended for James Madison. His 7.5 sacks finished tied for 5th in the Sun Belt.

Across 3 seasons at James Madison, Ukwu finished with 87 tackles, 27.5 TFL, 16.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles and 5 pass breakups. He should provide a veteran plug-and-play piece for Ole Miss in 2023.
