Chett A. Wynne coached football in the SEC for eight seasons from 1930-1937 at Auburn University and the University of Kentucky. Wynne coached at Auburn from 1930-1933, posting a 22-15-2 record in that time. Auburn was a member of the Southern Conference until 1932, and Wynne’s Tigers won the ’32 conference championship before moving to the SEC.
In 1934 Wynne left Auburn for Kentucky, where he coached from 1934-1937. His teams went a combined 20-19 in that time, never finishing better than sixth in the conference standings. He passed away in 1967 at the age of 68.
