Z. N. Estes spent one season as a college football coach after graduating from the University of Virginia, leading the 1900 Ole Miss Rebels to an 0-3 record. Estes would go on to work as an attorney in Memphis and passed away in 1943 at the age of 65.
A former newspaper reporter who has roamed the southeastern United States for years covering football and eating way too many barbecue ribs, if there is such a thing.
