N. A. Merriam coached the Texas A&M football team for parts of two seasons in 1908 and 1909, posting a 4-5-1 record in 10 career games as a head coach. He was replaced in the middle of the ’09 season by Charley Moran.
A former newspaper reporter who has roamed the southeastern United States for years covering football and eating way too many barbecue ribs, if there is such a thing.
