Former Ole Miss quarterback Archie Manning has stepped down from the College Football Playoff committee, citing health reasons following recent knee replacement surgery.
Manning, one of 13 members on the committee, resigned a week before the first College Football Playoffs rankings are set to be released. The selection committee will choose the four teams for the playoff based on ‘strength of schedule, head-head results, comparison of results against common opponents, championships won and other factors.’
