Alabama LB Terrell Lewis addresses critics of his Citrus Bowl decision via Instagram

Terrell Lewis has played his final game for Alabama, and there are some who aren’t happy about the linebacker’s decision.

Instead of playing for the Crimson Tide in the Citrus Bowl on Jan. 1, Lewis will be sitting out as he continues to prepare for the upcoming NFL draft. Lewis isn’t the only Alabama player who made that decision, as the Tide will also be without cornerback Trevon Diggs for the same reason.

On Wednesday, Lewis took to his Instagram story to respond to those who are criticizing him for the decision.

“I don’t respond nor respect computer trolls/fans that speak on situations they have no knowledge on but think they know what’s best for someone as if they’re in that person’s situation,” Lewis wrote.

Lewis, a redshirt junior, was a key part of Alabama’s defense this season. After missing all of 2018 due to a knee injury, he had 21 tackles, six sacks and a fumble recovery this year. He had two sacks in each of the Crimson Tide’s wins over Texas A&M and Tennessee in successive weeks in October.

Without Lewis, Alabama is set to face Michigan in the Citrus Bowl on Jan. 1 at 1 p.m. ET on ABC.
