Brian Robinson Jr. could be among the many Crimson Tide players preparing for the 2021 NFL Draft.

Instead, the running back made the decision to utilize the free season of eligibility the NCAA gave all players and made a return to Alabama for a fifth season.

Unlike most fifth-year players, Robinson has been an active participant on the field for the nation’s best college football program as he’s been a contributor each of his four seasons in Tuscaloosa. Now he’ll have the opportunity to potentially start at running back heading into next season.

During his recent media availability, Robinson was asked to discuss his decision to return for another season.

“For my decision to come back, I’ve seen many opportunities for me, as far as investing time into this year to become a better player – on and off the field,” Robinson shared. “Obviously, to have some improvements in my draft grade and whatnot. I just felt like there are many opportunities for me to win this year and I’m all in for it.”

One point to make, just because Robinson is returning, that doesn’t mean he’ll be handed anything at Alabama.

The running back position may be the deepest position on Alabama’s football team this spring and the level of competition is something Robinson noted on Monday.

“Our room is very talented. We have great, great players,” he added. “It’s all going to come down to the competition. We just have to keep competing and pushing each other to get better every day. There’s no limit to what our running back room can stand up to.”

If Robinson manages to be the standout of the room, he’s in for a huge final season at Alabama.
