Drew Williamson, Alabama INF, sings praises of interim HC Jason Jackson

Drew Williamson and the Alabama Crimson Tide’s season came to a close Sunday afternoon at the hands of the No. 1 Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
Wake Forest has been blasting teams all season and they looked as comfortable as ever, beating the Tide 22-5. It’s hard to imagine anyone dancing with the Deacons the way they played Sunday.
Alabama, despite earning a No. 16 overall national seed, has had a tumultuous last few months. Former head coach Brad Bohannon was fired in early May after he was linked to suspicious betting activity. Jason Jackson took the reins of the team in the interim.
And despite the loss to Wake Forest, Williamson sees Jackson as the long-term answer in Tuscaloosa. He insisted that if he had AD Greg Byrne’s job, the official hire would be easy.
Drew Williamson when asked if he would bring Jackson back as the Alabama head coach:
“I don’t get to make any hiring decisions. But if I did, I promise you this would be my guy. I’ll say that.”

He further explained his reasoning behind championing Jackson Sunday afternoon:
Drew Williamson on Jason Jackson: “He couldn’t have done a more perfect job and I can say that honestly that I would go to war with this guy. … I hope that someday somebody will give him a shot somewhere else because they will not regret it.”

The Crimson Tide exit the Winston-Salem Super Regional with a final record of 43-21.
