Former Alabama RB Brian Robinson medically cleared: Commanders coach shares what’s next
Brian Robinson is getting closer to his dream of playing in the NFL.
The former Alabama running back was taken by Washington in the 3rd round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
Robinson, however, was shot twice during an attempted robbery in late August and has been recovering from his injuries ever since.
But Commanders coach Ron Rivera said Monday that Robinson has been medically cleared to practice.
Ron Rivera said Commanders RB Brian Robinson was medically cleared and will "start his clock" — the three-week window in which the team can either activate him or leave him on NFI.

Washington has 21 days to activate Robinson and it’s possible that he could see his first NFL action Sunday against Tennessee.
If Robinson is not activated within 21 days for whatever reason, he would then be assigned to the Commanders’ Non-Football Injury (NFI) list.
Robinson served primarily as a backup during his first 4 seasons in Tuscaloosa.
He then emerged as one of the top running backs in the nation during his 5th season, piling up 1,343 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns.
