Former SEC assistants are all over the NFL ranks, some as head coaches, others as top assistants in the pros.
Now that the NFL’s coaching carousel has officially started, the Miami Dolphins are among the teams looking for a new head coach after their controversial decision to fire Brian Flores.
Per SportsBettingDime, former Alabama OC Brian Daboll, now in the same position with the playoff-bound Buffalo Bills, is the favorite to land the job:
Odds To Be Next Dolphins Coach
Brian Daboll +450
Doug Pederson +600
Eric Bieniemy +600
Kellen Moore +900
Byron Leftwich +1000
Todd Bowles +1000
Nathaniel Hackett +1000
Joe Brady +1250
Kevin O’Connell +1250
DeMeco Ryans +1500
Jim Harbaugh +1500#FinsUp https://t.co/AgGN2AqAu1— SportsBettingDime (@SBD) January 13, 2022
Also of note on that list is former LSU OC Joe Brady, who checks in with +1250 odds. He was fired by the Carolina Panthers this year as their offensive coordinator.
Daboll was Alabama’s OC in 2017 when the Tide beat Georgia to win the national title. Of course, Tua Tagovailoa — the Dolphins’ current quarterback — was a key figure in that game. So, we’ll see if Daboll and Tagovailoa are reunited this offseason.
