Jahmyr Gibbs, Alabama running back, announces possible jersey number switch

Jahmyr Gibbs, the Georgia Tech transfer at Alabama, may be switching numbers, if his Instagram story is any indication.
Gibbs, who wore No. 1 on The Flats, appears to be ready to wear No. 1 in Tuscaloosa after he wore No. 13 in spring practice.
Gibbs left Georgia Tech after a 3-9 season, and he was injured in the season finale loss to Georgia. Gibbs in 12 games last season averaged 5.22 yards per carry, and led Georgia Tech with 746 yards and 4 rushing touchdowns. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound back also had 36 receptions for 470 yards and a pair of touchdown receptions. He was arguably the best running back in the transfer portal when he landed at Alabama.
Gibbs also has some versatility and on kickoff returns this season, he averaged 25.61 yards on 23 attempts. He had a 98-yard return for a touchdown against Boston College.
Gibbs showed his potential in the A-Day game when he reeled off a 73-yard touchdown.
All indications appear to be that Gibbs will have a large role in the Alabama offense this season.
