Jalen Milroe believes it’s all about how you respond, and whether that’s a lackluster win over South Florida, or an interception in the end zone against Ole Miss.

Alabama got both on Saturday in a bounce-back win over Ole Miss. Some call it a statement win. Milroe put it another way. He appreciated the win, and cited his favorite Bible verse, and also looked to a wider vision of the balance of the season, as Alabama will next play at Mississippi State this week.

“We do have our swagger back,” he said, “but we do gotta acknowledge that we got a lot of work to do. We got a lot of work to do to reach all of our short-term goals and long-term goals. So we’re a work in progress. But I will say this: that we are hungry to improve and we’re excited for what the future holds.”

Milroe praised the Alabama defense, and its confidence extends to the offense. Milroe said that the path is still there for Alabama.

“This team is a work in progress. We’re going to continue to grow and acknowledge that we need more room to improve,” he said. “And I trust in the guys in the locker room. There’s no one I do not trust. I trust the coaches to put a great game plan together, offense and defense, special teams. And we have a great team and I love each one of those guys.”
