Even if Alabama makes it look easy, beating a top-10 opponent is no small feat.
Beating No. 3/No. 4 (CFP/AP) LSU 29-0 in Baton Rouge Saturday night gave Nick Saban his 29th win over a top-10 team during his Alabama tenure. That’s one more top-10 win than Paul “Bear” Bryant achieved during his time as head coach of the Crimson Tide.
Part of being successful at Alabama is being compared to Bryant. The comparisons and debates haven’t seemed to bothered Saban, a coach famously always focused on the next game, always looking to hit the recruiting after winning the national championship.
While this stat might not be one of the most talked-about, it is truly one of the most impressive of Saban’s incredible tenure in Tuscaloosa.
