Now 5 games into the season, Nick Saban still has a position battle on his offensive line.

Elijah Pritchett and Kadyn Proctor have been battling out for the starting left tackle position so far this season, but Saban believes either player can go in and have productive play for Alabama.

“I thought they played better in this game,” Saban said in his press conference Monday. “This is probably the best they’ve played all year. The offensive line as a whole played one of their better games against a difficult front that stunts a lot. But (Proctor) probably played the best he’s played all year, which is a good thing and hopefully that’ll give him some confidence. I still think we have confidence (Pritchett) can do a good job for us as well.”

Standing at 6-foot-6, 312 pounds, Pritchett came into Alabama as the No. 4 offensive tackle in the country according to 247Sports composite rankings. He took redshirt his freshman season and is now looking to establish himself as the clear starter.

Meanwhile, Proctor joined the Tide as the No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2023 class and is making noise as a true freshman.

Either way, Saban has 2 great options.
