Jalen Hale made the most of Week 4’s SEC West matchup between Alabama and Ole Miss.
The Crimson Tide freshman led all Alabama receivers with a pair of receptions for 63 yards and a touchdown. It was an important score too, putting Alabama up 2 possessions halfway through the 3rd quarter. By all accounts this marked the beginning of the end for the Rebels Saturday.

On Monday following Alabama’s 24-10 win over Ole Miss, head coach Nick Saban and starting QB Jalen Milroe commented on Hale’s surprise game.
Saban noted that Hale played a great game, but also said that he wants the freshman to keep playing with confidence as he continues to learn every aspect of the Tide’s offense.

Milroe told reporters that he noticed Hale’s great offseason and that he’ll continue to be a great component of the Tide offense moving forward.

It’s no secret that Alabama wants to run through its ground game first and let Milroe attack downfield second. The Tide don’t have a receiver averaging above 50 yards per game through the first 4 weeks of the season. Auburn is the only other team in the conference that can say that.
But as Milroe gains more confidence as a passer, maybe we’ll see Jermaine Burton and Jalen Hale, among others, of course, become bigger factors.
