Nick Saban explains how internal motivation needs to guide Alabama vs. Ole Miss

It’s easy to be motivated to go play football when you feel like the other team has insulted you, as was the case with No. 1 Alabama during a 59-0 win at Vanderbilt last week.
However, ahead of Saturday night’s matchup against Ole Miss, there hasn’t been much talk from the Rebels.
Therefore, coach Nick Saban told College GameDay on Saturday morning that he’s counting on his players to be motivated by self-respect and pride when they take on the high-flying Rebels at Bryant-Denny Stadium (via 247Sports):
“I felt last week our players felt like we were disrespected by the other team with some of their comments and that really motivated them, but I said, ‘What about your own self-respect?'” Saban told ESPN. “In terms of, ‘Am I being the best I can be as a person, as a student, as a player?’ And if you have self-respect, that should be the motivating factor not what somebody that you don’t even know says about you.”
If we know anything about Saban, that motivation will probably work. It’ll be interesting to see if it’s enough for the Crimson Tide to slow down QB Shea Patterson and cover a whopping 28.5-point spread.
Alabama and Ole Miss kick off at 8 p.m. Central time. The game can be seen on ESPN.
