Grant Morgan was waived as part of several roster moves the Jacksonville Jaguars made Friday.

NFL teams have to cut their rosters to 80 before the final preseason game and then to 53 players to start the season.

Morgan, listed at 5-foot-11, 235 pounds, is one of the great stories in college football. He arrived at Arkansas at a walk-on in 2016 and was eventually put on scholarship in 2018. Morgan appeared in every game from 2017-2019 and was voted a team captain in 2020.

He was listed on several All-American teams in 2020 and was a first-team All-SEC performer. Morgan won the Burlsworth Trophy in 2021, awarded to the best player in the country that started their career as a walk-on.

Morgan signed a contract with Jacksonville as undrafted free agent after the 2022 NFL Draft.
