Mississippi and Arkansas played the game of the year to date in college football on Saturday, with the No. 17 Rebels holding on for a 52-51 win over the No. 13 Razorbacks.
Trailing 52-45, Arkansas scored on the last play of the game when KJ Jefferson found Warren Thompson on a 9-yard touchdown pass, at which point all eyes turned to Razorbacks head coach Sam Pittman.
Would he go for a 2-point conversion and the win or would he play for overtime?
Pittman rolled the dice and went for the win, but Jefferson’s pass on the conversion attempt sailed out the back of the end zone, giving Ole Miss the win.
After the game, Pittman discussed his decision.
“I wish the results were different,”Pittman said. “I think I’d do it probably 100 percent of the time in the situation we were in. Ole Miss was scoring easily and we had to work for ours.”
