Sam Pittman wasn’t sure if Rocket Sanders will play at Wednesday’s teleconference, but felt good about the chances.
Sanders has been dealing with a left knee injury ever since the Western Carolina game on Sept. 2. He has played in one game so far this season.
Pittman is still waiting to see how Sanders recovers. Sanders was further along in the recovery process on Monday than Pittman originally thought.
“I’m as confident as I’ve been since the Western Carolina game. I would be lying to you if I told you I’m sure he’s going to play. I feel better about his opportunity to play, but we still have to see how he recovers from yesterday, the limited reps he participated in and go from there. But this week I thought he was further ahead on Monday than what I thought he would be. It didn’t swell up too bad on him, and we’ll give him a little less reps today and then see where he’s at on Thursday, and hoping he can play.”
Sanders is an incredible athlete when healthy. He had 1,443 yards rushing with 12 total touchdowns last season.
Arkansas takes on Texas A&M Saturday. Kickoff will be at Noon ET on SEC Network.
