Arkansas’ defense got a boost on Friday when defensive end Dorian Gerald announced that he is withdrawing from the NCAA transfer portal and returning to play for the Razorbacks.
Gerald shared the news on Twitter:
After many nights of prayers, and tons of support from my family, coaches and loved ones! I like to finish what I started!! I’ll be finishing my last year of football here at THE University of Arkansas!!
WOO DAMN PIGGG #WPS 💪🏾— Dorian Gerald (@dorianmgerald) June 3, 2022
It will be Gerald’s fifth season at Arkansas. Gerald was the top JUCO strong side defensive end in the class of 2018 when he signed with the Hogs.
The injury bug has limited Gerald to just 7 games over the last 3 seasons. He opened the 2021 campaign as the starting “jack” defensive end before suffering a season-ending injury in Arkansas’ season-opener against Rice.
In his Razorback career, Gerald has played in 15 games, recording 27 tackles, including 4 for loss, 1.5 sacks and 3 passes defended.
It was reported on April 25 that Gerald had entered his name into the portal.
