Cal trolls Auburn on social media after win in SEC territory

Cal avenged its loss to Auburn from a season ago with a 21-14 win over the Tigers at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday.
The Tigers and Golden Bears met in Berkeley on Sept. 9, 2023, for the 1st-ever meeting between the two programs on the gridiron. The Tigers came away with a 14-10 in that one thanks to a short touchdown pass by Payton Thorne with 6-and-a-half minutes remaining.
Nearly a year later, the tables were turned. The Golden Bears, in their 2nd game as an ACC program, opened up a 21-7 lead 3-and-a-half minutes into the 4th quarter and held on for the win despite Thorne’s 2-yard scoring run with 6 minutes left. Thorne had a rough day passing, throwing 4 interceptions.
After the game, Cal’s social media team had a parting shot to Auburn fans, as you can see below:

Cal was 6-7 in 2023. It’s now 2-0 for the 2nd time in 3 seasons. For Auburn, who play 5 in a row at home to start the season, a loss to drop to 1-1 is not an ideal outcome as it looks to improve on its own 6-7 mark from a season ago. It welcomes New Mexico to town in Week 3.
