Cam Coleman was a clear person of interest for Auburn on Saturday against UL-Monroe. On the Tigers’ first possession of the game, the freshman receiver was targeted 3 times.
His third reception went for a 20-yard touchdown, his third score of the season.

The former 5-star prospect was a massive storyline throughout the offseason. He showed up on campus ahead of spring ball and instantly went to work in the hopes of providing an instant impact for the Tigers.
Coleman had 2 catches for 62 yards and a touchdown in Auburn’s opener, and he had 53 yards on 2 catches the following week, but then he missed the New Mexico game with a shoulder injury and had only 15 yards the following week.
Since going for 82 yards against Oklahoma on Sept. 28, Coleman had just 6 receptions entering Saturday.
Coleman had receptions of 8, 7, and 20 yards on Auburn’s opening drive to push the Tigers into the endzone.
The score also snapped a string of 6 straight games in which Auburn failed to score points on its opening drive. The last time the Tigers scored on an opening possession was the New Mexico game on Sept. 14.
