Hugh Freeze and Auburn (3-1) will have a huge task in Week 5 when they host reigning back-to-back national champion Georgia (4-0).
However, during his recent radio show, Freeze believes Auburn has had a strong week of practice heading into the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry. Coming off his first loss as Auburn’s head coach last weekend against Texas A&M, Freeze took an even more active approach in practice on the offensive side of the ball.
Freeze admits that relinquishing offensive play calling duties and game planning has been a challenge. That being said, it appears the Tigers are in top form.

“I thought we understood the plan a little better,” Freeze said. “…We had a good week.”
While Freeze is focused on making the most of his first season, he’s also taking the long view.
“I’d hope in Year Three we’d be competing against anybody who is considered elite,” Freeze said. “…Hopefully, it can happen before that.”
While expressing confidence that the Tigers can currently compete with anyone in the country, Freeze is adamant that recruiting will be paramount to an Auburn revival
“We need three or four Top 10 classes in a row,” Freeze said.
