WATCH: Charles Barkley hilariously explains why he gave up football after one day

Former Auburn great Charles Barkley had a Hall of Fame NBA career, and is now one of the best basketball analysts around.
However, looking at him, he looks like a guy who should have perhaps considered a career in football.
But, while speaking to the Auburn football squad recently, Barkley hilariously revealed that he quit football after only one day because of how hard everyone was hitting:

“I played football one day,” Barkley begins, “then I realized y’all were really hitting out here.”
Obviously, Barkley’s decision to stick with basketball worked out pretty well for him. However, he’s still a huge college football fan and always enjoys rooting for the Tigers (even joining ESPN’s College GameDay as a guest picker last season).
