This isn’t how Marshall drew up its start to the 2019 Gasparilla Bowl.

Marshall entered its latest bowl game against UCF as a big underdog and the Thundering Herd haven’t done themselves any favors with how they’ve started the game with four turnovers in the first half.

Even worse, two of those turnovers have resulted in touchdowns for UCF.

The first touchdown of the 2019 Gasparilla Bowl came as UCF’s Richie Grant returned Isaiah Green’s pass 39 yards for a touchdown. This play resulted in UCF jumping out to a 7-0 lead in the game.

After UCF’s offense scored a touchdown of its own, the defense came up big again as Tre’Mon Morris-Brash returned a backward pass by Marshall for a 45-yard touchdown.

Marshall’s offense now has to outscore UCF’s defense just to make this contest a game.
