Arthur Morton coached the Mississippi State Bulldogs for three seasons from 1949-1951, failing to post a winning record in that time. His tenure in Starkville began on a low-note with an 0-8-1 record in 1949, and his teams peaked in his final two seasons with back-to-back 4-5 campaigns. He retired from coaching after the 1951 season with an 8-18-1 record at MSU. Morton also coached at Southeastern Louisiana University and Virginia Military Institute, retiring with a combined record of 22-31-2 for his career. He passed away in 1999 at the age of 84.
