CBS Sports’ latest 2022 NBA Mock Draft features 5 SEC stars in Round 1

The 2022 NBA Draft is almost here! The 2-round event will be held on Thursday, June 23, in Brooklyn, and should feature some SEC talent in both rounds.

When commissioner Adam Silver steps to the podium, a few SEC stars should be in the mix to hear their names called in Round 1. In fact, one SEC standout could be the No. 1 overall pick!

In CBS Sports analyst David Cobb’s updated Round 1 mock draft, he has 5 SEC players going in the first round:

• No. 1 — Jabari Smith Jr., F, Auburn — Orlando Magic
• No. 7 — Shaedon Sharpe, G, Kentucky — Portland Trail Blazers
• No. 17 — TyTy Washington, G, Kentucky — Houston Rockets
• No. 18 — Tari Eason, F, LSU — Chicago Bulls
• No. 22 — Kennedy Chandler, G, Tennessee — Memphis Grizzlies
