My Picks for Tuesday’s ACC/SEC Challenge
Wooga Poplar, Miami: Higher than 1.5 3-pointers made
This is my favorite pick of the night. Poplar has knocked down at least 2 long-range shots in every single game Miami has played this season. In 5 games this year, he’s made 5, 5, 4, 2 and 3 shots from beyond the arc. So yeah… he’s a pretty safe pick to knock down a pair of 3-pointers, even against a tough, athletic Kentucky squad.
Matthew Cleveland, Miami: Higher than 0.5 3-pointers made
Poplar’s teammate, Matthew Cleveland, didn’t hit a 3-pointer in the first game of the year. Since then, he’s gone 4-straight games knocking down at least 1 long-distance shot. He went 1-for-1 from deep against Kansas State his last time out. Hopefully he’ll get a little more volume on Tuesday night.
Antonio Reeves, Kentucky: Higher than 2.5 3-pointers made
Since hitting 2 3-pointers in Kentucky’s opener, Reeves has gone 5-straight games with at least 3 made shots from beyond the arc. He’s had 5, 3, 3, 3 and 5 made 3-pointers in that stretch. In 6 games this year, he’s attempted 6, 8, 17 (!!!), 6, 3 and 7 shots from deep. He’ll continue to fire away and should make at least 3 tonight.
Joseph Girard, Clemson: Higher than 1.5 3-pointers made
It took Girard a couple of games to get going, as he only had 1 3-pointer in each of his first 2 games for Clemson. Since then, he’s been hot from 3-point range, knocking down 5, 3 and 3 in his last 3 games. I like him for at least 2 from distance tonight.
Mark Sears, Alabama: Higher than 1.5 3-pointers made
Finally, we come to Alabama and Mark Sears. The veteran guard has been one of the Tide’s best players this year, and he’s been solid from 3-point range. In his last 5 games, he’s made 3, 3, 1, 2 and 2 shots from beyond the arc. I expect him to get 5+ looks from deep tonight, and all he needs is 2 makes to help us win this leg of the Sleeper Fantasy contest.
How Many Picks Should You Make?
It’s up to you how high you want to make your multiplier, but a 5-leg entry with the picks I described above has a 7.48x multiplier, so it’ll pay out $29.92 on my $4 entry fee if I win:
Let’s hope for soft rims and plenty of open looks from deep tonight in the 2 ACC/SEC Basketball Challenge games scheduled to be on ESPN! There’s going to be another exciting slate of games on Wednesday, so it should be a fun week of DFS action over at Sleeper!
