By Adam Spencer
Published:
Underdog Fantasy is a great way to get in on the action for the second (and final) night of the ACC/SEC Challenge. The first-annual ACC/SEC men’s hoops showdown got off to a great start on Tuesday night, with the SEC taking a narrow 4-3 lead.
There are 7 more games on the slate for Wednesday night, including a couple of intriguing matchups. Here’s the schedule for Wednesday night’s action:
- No. 10 Tennessee at No. 17 North Carolina — 7:15 p.m. ET on ESPN
- No. 14 Texas A&M at Virginia — 7:15 p.m. ET on ESPN2
- Florida at Wake Forest — 7:15 p.m. ET on ESPNU
- No. 7 Duke at Arkansas — 9:15 p.m. ET on ESPN
- Boston College at Vanderbilt — 9:15 p.m. ET on SEC Network
- Georgia at Florida State — 9:15 p.m. ET on ACC Network
- Virginia Tech at Auburn — 9:15 p.m. ET on ESPN2
That’s an exciting finish to what should be a great hoops challenge for years to come! Will the SEC hold on to win? Or will the ACC stage an exciting comeback? Either way, there are some great pick’em options available on Underdog!

My Picks for the ACC/SEC Basketball Challenge
Santiago Vescovi, Tennessee: Higher than 17.5 points+rebounds+assists
Vescovi has been around the Tennessee program for years now. He’s played in a lot of crazy environments and difficult road arenas. He won’t be fazed by the North Carolina crowd on Wednesday night. Thus, his 17.5 points+rebounds+assists total seems a little bit low to me. I like him for around 20 tonight.
Armando Bacot, North Carolina: Higher than 25.5 points+rebounds+assists
Tennessee will do a good job of limiting North Carolina’s wings and guards with its stifling defense, but Bacot should have some room to operate down low. He won’t have one of his most dominant efforts, but a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double seems like a plausible outcome tonight, win or lose.
Wade Taylor IV, Texas A&M: Lower than 24.5 points+rebounds+assists
I love watching Wade Taylor IV play, but this game is at Virginia, and the Cavaliers will slow everything down to a crawl. Even if the Aggies win and Taylor has a strong performance, I expect him to finish a bit short of 25 points+rebounds+assists against Tony Bennett’s slow-paced crew.
Riley Kugel, Florida: Higher than 18.5 points+rebounds+assists
Kugel is 1 of 4 Gators currently averaging 14+ points on the season. I expect him to score 14 or so points at Wake Forest tonight, which means he’ll only need to combine for 5 rebounds+assists to hit his number. That seems very doable for the talented Florida guard.
How Many Picks Should You Make?
Every pick you make for a contest on Underdog increases your multiplier, meaning the more picks you make, the more money you can win! A 4-leg contest with the picks I described above would pay out 10x your entry. So for my $4 entry fee, I can win $40 if all my picks are correct:
Who will win these intriguing ACC/SEC Challenge matchups? That remains to be seen, but make sure you get your picks in before tipoff on Wednesday night so you can try to win big!
