Army football is one of a few remaining teams fighting for a spot in the College Football Playoff, looking to earn that coveted G5 spot. The black Knights are battling the likes of Boise State, UNLV, Tulane and Navy for the right to compete for a national title.
But to have a shot they’ll have to finish the season undefeated – or at least 11-1 with a competitive loss to top 25 Notre Dame.
The Black Knights’ march to and undefeated season continues Satuday against Air Force, but Army will have to do it without their star QB, Bryson Daily. ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported Saturday morning that Daily will not suit up for Week 10’s service academy showdown.
Army quarterback Bryson Daily will be inactive for today’s game vs. Air Force. Junior Dewayne Coleman is set to make his first career start for the Black Knights.

The injury/illness is undisclosed for Daily, but regardless it’s a massive loss for the Black Knights. According to ESPN’s Chris Low, Daily’s injury is not thought to be season-ending.
Daily is the engine for Army – he’s accounted for over 1,500 total yards from scrimmage and 26 touchdowns – 19 rushing and 7 passing. Few running backs across the country have outrushed Army’s star QB, who sits at 909 rushing yards on the season.
Backup Dewayne Coleman will get the start under center for Army in his stead.
