Temple went 8-5 in Year 1 under coach Rod Carey, losing the Military Bowl.

Then, the wheels fell off. The Owls went 1-6 during the pandemic-plagued 2020 season and finished a dismal 3-9 during the 2021 season.

Now, per a report from Yahoo’s Pete Thamel, Carey is out. Thamel reports that the Owls have let go their head coach:

Carey finishes his Temple career with an overall record of 12-20. Where the Owls turn for their next head coach remains to be seen.

Of note, during his time at Northern Illinois and Temple, Carey has gone 0-7 in bowl games. He was 0-1 in bowls during his Temple career.
