Desmond Howard isn’t apologizing for inserting some rivalry ribbing into Saturday night’s Heisman Trophy ceremony.
Howard, a former Michigan standout who won the Heisman Trophy, was part of ESPN’s Saturday presentation of the 2021 award. During an early segment, Howard took a shot at Ohio State’s protection of quarterback C.J. Stroud, a finalist for the award.

Howard addressed his critics after the show, tweeting a non-apology.
I would like to apologize …
to everyone who doesn’t have the ability to recognize a fun, good natured ribbing among football rivals. C.J. is good. We good. And that’s all that matters to me. Everyone else can relax and enjoy the rest of their night.
