Travis Hunter slots in at No. 1 overall on ESPN’s latest 2025 NFL mock draft.
The new mock, published Tuesday by analyst Field Yates, has Hunter going to the Tennessee Titans over Abdul Carter, Cam Ward, Shedeur Sanders and every other top prospect in this class.
As a potential 2-way player, Hunter has the skillset to impact the game at both receiver and cornerback at the next level. Here’s an excerpt of analysis from Yates on the decision to select Hunter with the top choice in his mock:
While there is little precedent for a prospect playing both sides of the ball in the NFL, Hunter has a rare skill set. Scouts have noted his determination and focus as reasons why he was able to play an astounding 1,458 snaps this past season. The Titans need help at both WR and CB, and Hunter — whom I’m ranking at corner right now — could boost either spot. He caught 15 touchdown passes and had four interceptions in 2024.
The betting markets remain fluid with regards to who will be the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Hunter is currently +450 to be selected with the top pick, according to the latest odds from BetMGM. Miami’s Cam Ward is a slight favorite at -130 while Penn State’s Abdul Carter isn’t far behind at +190.

Quarterbacks are often taken with the No. 1 pick, although it’s not unheard of for a defensive player or offensive tackle to take the top spot. That’s happened 4 times in the last 12 drafts, with former Georgia defensive end Travon Walker being the last to do so in 2022.
The 2025 NFL Draft will begin on April 24.
