Would be more interesting to figure out penalty rate per snap. Teams like TN and Ole Miss run a lot more plays than Ky or UGA.
Yeah, I know no one cares here unless its football and rarely men's BB, but this got me thinking - what is the best SEC dynasty across all sports. There are some interesting ones like LSU women outdoor track, Tennessee women (Pat Summitt heyday), etc. For my money, even though she's never had a national title win, it has to be Mary Wise and the Gator volleyball team. 18 straight SEC titles (2 ties and 16 outright). Even crazier was the 355-11 conference record in those seasons. What do you guys think?
Man, I dont have to read the articles, I am just here for the comments. Y'all kill me. Bama-UGA will meet on the field soon and settle who is better. It might be 6-3 or it might be 56-0. Who knows what might happen week to week (except that my Gators wont make a tackle). So, why get so stressed and upset, just let it play out.
I think Badie will go off and Mizzou will score a lot. The question is whether or not Florida's offense can keep pace. I see this being a tight, high-scoring game, and I believe the difference is turnovers. EJ has a great game but throws a bad pick that makes the difference. Tigers, 38-33. Also, grab that line (+9) feels like easy money with this Gator team.
The best Gator defense I have seen this year was the basektball team against FSU Sunday. I think Badie will go off and Mizzou will score a lot. It's about time the Gators played some defense, but too bad its the wrong sport.
Love these preseason polls. Theyre based on last year, name recognition, and "what we think a team might do" I try not to get upset with who is where. It will always shake out in the end. I do think you see some interesting trends though. Take Indiana for instance. Historically not so great, used a ton of splash plays and some good turnover luck to change their nareative last year. They do seem well coached by Allen and they play hard. Cant oversome some of the talent disparity though so it feels like a crapshoot. Maybe an upset here and there and they push 9 wins again, or turnovers regress to the mean and they get 5 wins. Still think theyre interesting to watch. Same with Iowa State, Oregon and Coastal. But maaaaannnn....I am stoked for the season to start. Puppies and Kitties lets get it going.
If my Gators cant stun the Tide, then Orange is a good consolation. Its an old rivalry and seeing Trask vs King is great. Wonder how much time is spent talking about Kyle being the career backup to King in high school. Just in case yall hadnt heard that story now - once or twice or 10 times a week.
Norcross you almost nailed the halftime score!! Trask is a real QB after all right Corch? Corch? Corch...
No COVID conspiracy from me. Thats not what a cancellation is really about. Again it comes down to two other things $ and liability. Since players have expressed "demands" for safety, expect the conferences and NCAA to back off. They cant treat these playee groups as a union or else they are admitting they are employees, and then whole whole issue of pay comes around again. Tgat kills the NCAA. They also cant ignore the demands because imagine the lawsuits that roll in and even just 1 player requires ICU and intubation. Arent the NCAA and conferences who dictate safety guidelines. This cancellation move is designed to keep the status quo alive. That is all. Lets stop fighting about the COVID stats and politics and look at the real drivers.
