So this is clearly just fun smack-talk and it's hard to compare atmospheres in sports, and of course the SEC is physical as hell. But I'll offer some perspective from having attended many Red River games... the 50-50 ticket split actually leads to a VERY unique crowd feel. The old cotton bowl is intimate, and what happens is that on every single play, it feels like the entire crowd is yelling. Because each team has a home field advantage when their defense is out. Their is no lull in the crowd at any point in the game. Every down is all out loud. That aspect isn't really matched by other regular season rivalry games.
