Well now I am taking what was a sincere apology back. What pissed you off, mom out of meatloaf?
Well sorry about that, the whole magic box/computer is still a little beyond my grasp. Now I feel like a jerk.
Ole Miss, MS State, Southern, Alcorn, JSU, who cares, I am just thrilled that any Mississippi team is doing anything positive based on academics. Who'd a thunk it...
Also, congratulations on that SDS 99 fan rating. Don't get carpal tunnell.
6:30? 11:50... Also, sorry about pointing out the whole segregation thing. Now walk up the stairs from your mom's basement and ask for some meatloaf.
"We," you got a mouse in your pocket? Thank goodness someone has finally pointed this out. Unless you played, and I might even extend this to managers and trainers, "we" didnt win anything, the team you support did. Also, applied to ColRebForever
3 championships, 59, 60, 62... I can assure you not one of those teams would have wanted to play the likes of Grambling. I am sure those pre-integration teams were fantastic, but lets get serious. However, I agree that nobody cares about a barn burner played between two teams playing for last in the West, but I guess it was for a bowl berth.
And I am sure you would vote for Robert to get the Nobel Peace Prize after he repented for his tumble off the roof. Tunsil's wasn't criminal. So yeah stupid mistake, but stupid rules, but I also didn't list Tunsil. As for state fan, no, just an Ole Miss fan that realizes that the way we exploit these young guys doesn't often work out for them. Teach them nothing of responsibility, cheer for them on Saturday, don't think about them again when they leave. Its a system that works out great for guys like us that hang out in the grove, watch the game, and take no ownership of the culture we help to create around college athletics.
Bobby Hill: Sexual Battery (he actually was dismissed); Nkemdiche 1 & 2: assault; Nkemdiche 2: drug use; Nkemdiche 1: drug use; Stringfellow disorderly conduct (but if you watched the security footage you would be shocked that was all) Elliston: resisting arrest; Bryant: failure to comply, disorderly, drunk in public; Kelly, hey he is "machine gun" Kelly. That is just from 2014 to January 15. The biggest thing is that several on that list were brought here after they had already been dismissed elsewhere for their behavior, that is what bothers me. Before anyone does, I don't want to hear about second chances, as for your soul, I hope that everyone gets many many chances to see the light, as for the privilege of playing a game, nope.
Being charged is not a conviction. That being said, most college athletes that get in trouble never actually get convicted. Nonetheless, while under Freeze, Ole Miss is on the rise as far as football success is concerned, it is the new Florida State as far as the character portion is concerned, Nkemdiche will play. I still want to know what happened to Denzel, that guy basically disappeared.
Grover, I am not really sure how to argue this point with you, because it is simple historical fact. It is well documented, it is actually beyond contestation, that the term "Ole Miss" was used by slaves to refer to the plantation owner's wife or at times mistress. Feel free to take a look around the old inter web, give it a google, read up on it.
Grover- Well if you look at the historical origin of the term "Ole Miss", it is tied pretty heavily to slavery. In fact, it was a term used by slaves to refer to the wife of the plantation owner. So, I would say that it will have tough time surviving this tide of PC.
The University has been slowly bending to political pressure on issues related to the history of Ole Miss for years. A big part of this is an academic "little brother" complex. Northern universities tell us that any relics of southern history are racist and proof of a lack of progress, in the hopes of earning their approval, our southern institutions try to hide any association with southern history. Just recently, Colonel is gone, Ole Miss is only used in reference to athletics and no longer associated with the University proper, just being seasonal, but now the University references "Hotty Toddy Hollidays" rather than Christmas, and they have a "tree lighting ceremony" rather than Christmas Tree Lighting. So yeah, the Ole Miss moniker is gone, really the only question is whether it or Rebels goes first.
All of the "Ole Miss" will be better without all of our talent crowd is absurd. You take a player like Treadwell off of any team, and the following year they will be worse at the receiving position. I just feel bad for Freeze, a group of insane fans that think you should be better after losing 3/4 of an NFL roster has got to put some pressure. Happy Hotty Toddy Holidays.
Good grief. The most talented team in program history finishes 9-3. Loses the vast majority of that talent to the draft, some to graduation, yet going to improve for next year. If you honestly believe Ole Miss will be better next year, for lack of a better term, you're drunk. Happy Hotty Toddy Holidays.
You know what is coming off of those jerseys within 2 years? Ole Miss. Happy "hotty toddy holidays"
Is this a serious question? This was a wonderful season. 9-3. I hate to break it to you, but the Ole Miss football glory days were played in black and white on television. Sure a couple of good seasons here and there and never losing a party, but a chance at the first 10 win in 12 years, hard to call that a disappointment. Sure it was a talented class, but geez folks, this isn't a program that just falls out of bed into 9 wins a year. Get real. It was only a few short seasons ago that I was watching Ole Miss lose to 1-AA teams at home. I get that everyone likes to harken back to the days of old when Ole Miss was winning championships, but lets face it, football then is as different as the Ole Miss mascot is today.
Is there really "no" way? Is there also no way that a team picks up the first on 4th and 25 in OT? hmmm.
I can't, I just can't. Ole Miss loses the most talented group of players in program history, after going 9-3, and they are going to win the West NEXT year. Oh, or possibly lose in the SEC Championship game, but that's just a worst case scenario. Somebody needs a dose of reality.
