Matt, I've seen this mistake in many of your articles. Currently the University of Sioux Falls in NCAA Division II but when DeBoer coached there, USF was still NAIA.
The start of this snowball rolling downhill was Texas creating the Longhorn Network. Texas pissed off the rest of the Big 12 and the schools that could get out from under their domineering left (A&M, Nebraska, Mizzou, and Colorado). Texas kicked off the all about the $$$ trend and ironically hasn't had much success since. Another irony: the Pac-12 fighting against first, the playoff, and second, the expand playoff, to protect the Rose Bowl contributed to its demise. An expanded playoff sooner with a guaranteed Pac-12 participant may have prevented a lot of this current realigning.
The author and editors of this article should also get "crushed". The answers are "1-2" and "Georgia Southern", not "0-2" and "Georgia Tech".
Even easier solution that I'm surprised I haven't seen floated more: Florida play at LSU Nov 19 and flip next year's meeting from at LSU to at Florida to even it up.
